Universwater Kick-off Meeting

Welcome to Universwater! Today marked the kick-off meeting of our EU-funded project. With a consortium of 15 partners from six European countries, the project aims to tackle the pressing issue of water quality and quantity, addressing challenges posed by agricultural activities and climate change.

UNIVERSWATER adopts a ‘system of systems’ approach, developing and enhancing technologies to optimize water resource use. In particular, the project intends to:

Develop innovative sensors for various pollutants.
Integrate these sensors with earth observation imaging and AI.
Create sustainable, nature-based, and technology-based water remediation methods.
Promote these methods through pricing incentives.

These technologies will be part of decision support systems (DSSs) tested in case studies focused on dairy water treatment, soil salination mitigation, and fertilizer/pesticide optimization. The goal is to upscale local DSSs into a universal, adaptable platform.
