Dr. Panagiotis Karagiannis
Electrical and Computer Engineer (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, AUTh.). He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science, majoring in Parallel and Distributed Systems (MSc in Advanced Computing, Department of Computing, Imperial College, London, UK), and a PhD in Applied Informatics from the University of Macedonia on Distributed Constraint Optimization, Resource Allocation and Scheduling in Large-Scale Agent Networks. His research interests focus on the fields of algorithms and optimization, distributed systems and constraint problems. Dr. Karagiannis has worked on various public and industry projects in the areas of web service development, monitoring and implementation of information management systems, quality assurance, data collection and processing, as well as optimization algorithms for industrial process management.
Georgios Tsalikidis
Tsalikidis Georgios is a Computer Science high-school with a MSc in Web Intelligence, degrees in Informatics and Business Administration and a holder of the title EPPAIK ASPETE.
He has worked at the Kozani Regional Training Center as Secretary and a Member of its Coordinating Council. He has served as Technical Head of the Center for Informatics and New Technologies of Primary and Secondary Education of Regional Unity Kozani as well as a member of the Project Management Team of ELLAK of the Municipality of Kozani. In addition, he has teaching experience in Secondary Education, in training programs of the Institute of Educational Policy, Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus”, Public Vocational Training Institutes, and the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government.
He is the Subdirector at the 2nd Vocational High School (EPAL) of Ptolemaida, a reviewer in educational journals and conferences and his research interests are ICT in Education, Operational Research, Mathematical Programming and Optimization, Project and Production Scheduling, Algorithm Design and Analysis.
Dr. Nikolaos Mantas
Nikolaos Mantas graduated from the Computer Science Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in 2008. He received the MSc in Management of Information Systems from the same institute in 2010, where in his diploma (MSc Thesis) studied the application of data mining techniques to the web (Web Mining Techniques).
He holds a PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Engineering Faculty of University of Western Macedonia in the area of the Communication Networks and Services with user’s Social Awareness Network.
His research interests include Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANET), Recommendation Systems, Social Networks, and Machine Learning, while he is specialized in design and application development.
Dr. Stavroula Tsitsifli
Dr. Stavroula Tsitsifli graduated from the Chemical Engineering, Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She holds a PhD from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia in Reliability Assessment of Water Supply Systems. She also holds a ΜΒΑ in Business Administration of the City University Business School, UK and a MSc in Specialization in Production Management & Industrial Administration from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Thessaly. She has conducted postdoctoral research with a scholarship at the University of Thessaly (funded by the S. Niarchos Foundation) on “Development of an early warning system for the safety of drinking water in water supply networks”.
Dr. S. Tsitsifli is professionally engaged in the private sector as a scholar of public and private projects, mainly water resources management and water supply networks and environmental projects. She also teaches at the Department of Environment Sciences of the University of Thessaly and at the Hellenic Open University in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He has a total of 20 years of teaching experience in engineering departments of the University of Thessaly and the University of Western Macedonia and TEI of Thessaly. She is employed as a postdoctoral researcher in research projects.
She has participated in writing more than 100 scientific papers published in International scientific journals, International & National scientific conferences and a book entitled “Integrated Management of Urban Water Supply Networks”. She is an elected member of the Delegation of the TCG of Central and Western Thessaly and has served as a member of the Steering Committee.
Her research interests are: qualitative and quantitative management of water resources and water supply networks, risk management and water security, unconventional water resources and water reuse, mathematical modelling and simulation of water supply networks, environmental management and technology, reliability assessment and management, emergency prediction and risk and vulnerability analysis of environmental systems.
